Chester Gould

Dick Tracy's war on crime began in the roaring twenties as a counterpoint to America's fascination with the charismatic figures of true life organized crime. The legendary Chester Gould created equally fascinating supervillain gangster characters with catchy names in the comic strip for Tracy to fight. The genius of which is that many of whom have become just as memorable as the title character. Tracy would always get his man and show that crime does not pay as Tracy either put them behind bars or they met their demise trying to get away. Gould created a fascinating world set in a certain time period, but had lessons and an influence that remain timeless.
